Great location for exploring the stunning coastline of County Donegal. The room was clean and met our expectations. The ambience in the bar was enjoyable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The shower in the room was excellent, and we appreciated the modern and clean design. The pub is pet-friendly, which was a bonus for us.

The food was a bit disappointing, with the chips lacking flavor and the featherbed steak causing an upset stomach. The lack of a television in the room was unexpected, and there didn't seem to be a common area with a TV either.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, especially for non EU nationals like us. The rooms, which are like cozy cabins, were clean and comfortable. The location was convenient, and the food at the restaurant was amazing. The homemade bread at breakfast was the best we've had during our entire stay. The bar area with the lovely fire was a welcome sight after a day in the rain. a great experience.

I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

I especially enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff, especially Dennis the barman. The restaurant had a fantastic breakfast, the best I had during my trip. The location of the hotel is absolutely stunning, surrounded by the amazing Slieve League Cliffs. the staff provides exceptional service and is very accommodating. the food, both breakfast and dinner, is fantastic with a wide variety of locally sourced fish dishes. the rooms are cozy and the showers are great. the pub has a great ambiance and offers outdoor space for drinks and food. the hotel is also dog-friendly.

The staff sometimes gave the impression of wanting to rush guests and finish up quickly.

I chose The Rusty Mackerel for its proximity to the stunning Slieve League Cliffs. The pub restaurant was a delightful spot to enjoy food and live music. The cozy rooms at the back were quiet and the modern bathroom was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast options were excellent, with made-to-order dishes and delicious homemade bread. The staff, though busy, were friendly and accommodating. a great location for exploring the area and a popular pub with award-winning food and a warm atmosphere.

    I do recommend this hotel.

The views of Sliabh Liag were breathtaking. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The rustic Irish pub atmosphere was charming and added to the overall experience. The rooms were modern and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was delicious, with a good variety of options to choose from. a fantastic place to stay for a city break.

There were a few minor inconveniences during our stay. The phone reception in the area was not great, which made it difficult to stay connected.

The value for money at the hotel was great, and the room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring the stunning sights of South Donegal, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

The food for breakfast could have been improved by offering a wider range of vegan and gluten-free options.

Wonderful stay at Rusty Mackerel Villa. The rooms were modern, clean, and beautifully decorated. Despite the small size, they were comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. The staff, especially Linda and Siobhan, were kind and accommodating, making our stay pleasant. The location was perfect, just a short drive from the stunning Sliabh League cliffs. The pub atmosphere was charming, and the food was superb, both in the restaurant and at breakfast. Despite a few minor drawbacks, like the lack of windows in the rooms and no TV, overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The staff at this place were amazing, especially one guy who really knew his whiskey. the food was delicious and the location was perfect for a relaxing holiday. Plus, being just a few minutes away from the stunning Sliabh Liag cliffs made it even better!

The room was a little stuffy with no windows and the aircon not working, which was a bit disappointing. the fire alarm went off in the morning, but the staff didn't communicate why it happened.

We had an amazing stay at Rusty Mackerel Villa! the location in the beautiful Gaeltacht area of Donegal was breathtaking. the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us and our dog feel very welcome. the food, both for dinner and the included breakfast, was delicious. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. We especially loved the blackout windows, ensuring a great night's sleep. We will definitely be returning, maybe in the summer months.
